Queensland 35+ Rugby Playing Laws
This is over 35's rugby and the fun, friendship and fraternity that is over 35's must be evident at all times.
1)All players must be correctly attired for over 35's rugby at all times including footwear.
2)No over vigorous play.
3)No unsportsmen like behaviour.
4)Normal IRB laws of rugby apply but with variations so the game will be enjoyed more and the chances of being injured are less.
These variations shall include:
·All 8 forwards must remain bound in the scrum until the ball has been cleared
·Scrumhalf must not follow the ball around the scrum
·No pushing or movement of the scrum
·No tightheads to be won, i.e. no striking against the feed
·All 8 forwards to contest all lineouts
·Kicking only allowed in own 22 (exception is taking penalty kicks)
·Teams lucky enough to score a try shall restart play by kicking off to non scoring team
·Unlimited substitution of players and substituted players may return at any time
·No offside. Players must stay behind the last foot at rucks and mauls. Backs must stay 5 metres behind scrums and 10 metres behind lineouts.
·Games are to be 3 x 20 minute periods.
